Margarita Lemann

Margarita Lemann is a UK-based artist working with oil painting, batik, mixed media, and large-scale murals. Her practice centres on oil painting, where she translates rhythmic structures and motifs developed through textile processes into painted form. Her work examines states of stillness, transition, and movement through figurative and mythological imagery, balancing structured composition with material sensitivity.

Lemann holds an MA in Easel Painting from the Surikov Art Institute, Moscow (2016), and a BA in Drawing and Folk Crafts from Moscow Pedagogical University (2011). Her academic training provides a strong foundation in figurative painting and surface-based experimentation. In 2025, she was granted a UK Global Talent visa in recognition of her contribution to contemporary visual art.

Her works are held in private collections in the United States, France, the United Kingdom, and Sweden. In 2025, she was awarded the Highly Commended prize in the Open Art Competition at The Godfrey Pilkington Art Gallery, UK.

Her work has been exhibited internationally and across the UK, including at Phoenix Art Space, Brighton; St. Margaret’s House and Shtager & Shch Gallery, London; and Liverpool Art Fair. Alongside her gallery practice, Lemann has completed numerous large-scale murals and industrial paintings in public and architectural spaces in Eastern Europe.
